This was the unplanned road trip. I got a message asking if I wanted to go, but was supposed to have my kid.
Well, the joy of teenagers was he made other plans. I packed my stuff drove to Sacramento in rush hour traffic
to meet a friend for the drive to LA. On the road I contacted fellow Schoeps NBox taper Scooter123 and he
invited me to stay. We got into LA after midnight Friday and I crashed out. Had breakfast at an awesome spot
called Jacks and Joe by the USC campus then on to venue. Fun day hanging with fellow tapers and no issues with
security. I found my perfect spot and waited for Scooter123 to get in. He waited to get a ticket and made it
in ten minutes before show time. We ran side by side. Really crowded on the floor and pretty hot. Before
Friend of the Devil Tom Petty makes an announcement that the fire marshall wants 100 people to leave or go to
balcony but it didn’t sound serious. After Melinda, they shut it down. Six songs missed but looks like refunds
for all. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a Sunday ticket and none were sold. This one is really nice. Should
sound almost the same as Scooter’s recording. Drive home was brutal, we drove all night but the show was worth
the effort.
