A new 2018 transfer in 24/96 & 16/44 of my master tapes documenting the Dallas stop on Tom Petty’s 1985 ‘Southern Accents’ Tour.
I torrented this show 10-12 years ago before I knew the proper way to transfer analog tapes. My original transfer ran slow and was not azimuth adjusted which of course has been corrected here, as well as pulling out numerous offending audience noises.
After taping the Norman, Oklahoma show two nights before I was able to capture this show with no cuts to any music or dialogue and it really came out beautiful.
After seeing Petty numerous times this is one of my favorite shows of the ones I attended and any show that has the rocking version of “Dogs On The Run” as opposed to mellow 2000’s era version is well worth having.
Still missed, the world is just a little less cool without Tom in it…
