Three weeks into the “Southern Accents” tour Tom Petty hits the Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin. I mentioned in the June 6th Columbus, Ohio show I posted a few months back that being the second night of the tour the band is playing it safe and doesn’t seem to attack the songs like later in the tour. By this show the band is locked in and attacks every song like they have been playing them for a year.

Sadly, we are missing the encores but what we have is excellent in both performance and quality. There is some slight hiss during the quieter songs but for the most part the excellent quality overshadows any imperfections.
